Founded in 1852 by the Firemen's Charitable and Benevolent Association. This is the tomb crowded cemetery you can see from I-10 that looks like a small city. There are about 20,500 lots crammed into this cemetery. One of the most noticeable tombs is the Order of Elks mound tomb at the entrance. Also of interest is a Confederate monument for the mass burial of 600 confederate soldiers. Certainly not the most beautiful or architecturally interesting cemetery in the city, but for sheer amount of tombs it's worth a visit. With it's well planned roads I suggest a drive through the cemetery.

Located at 120 City Park avenue

Hours: 8:00 - 4:00 everyday
